Shepherd’s pie is originated from Scotland and traditional Irish recipe. This is really easy, very healthy and tasty recipe that everyone will enjoy.Changes can be made by adding chicken, meat or only vegetables,cheese according to their individual preferences.


Ingredients

Mixed Vegetables – 1cup
Chicken stock-1 cup
Onion-1
Potatoes-300gms
Milk-1 cup
Garlic Cloves-2
Tomato puree-1 cup
butter
Olive oil
Salt and Pepper to taste


Preparation method

  1. Heat oil in a pan, add onion and saute it.
  2. Add chopped garlic, tomato puree, salt, pepper and stir it well.
  3. Add mixed vegetables,chicken stock and stir it well.
  4. Cook it in the medium flame and bring to simmer for few mins.
  5. Boil the potatoes in a salted water, drain it.Mash it with butter, milk, salt and pepper.
  6. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  7. Spread veg mixture in the baking dish.
  8. Add the mashed potato as a topping and baked it for 30 mins until it turns to golden brown.
  9. Serve it warm.

Scotch Eggs

Ingredients

Eggs-2
Sausages-250 gms
Thyme-1 tsp
Parsley-1 tbsp
Breadcrumbs-200 gms
Plain flour-3 tbsp
Oil for frying
Salt and Pepper for seasoning


Preparation method

  1. Boil the eggs in a salted water, peel it and keep it aside.
  2. Mix the sausages with the thyme, parsley ina bowl and season with salt and freshly ground black pepper
  3. Divide the sausage mixture into two and flatten each out on a clean surface evenly.
  4. Season the flour with pepper, salt and dredge the eggs in the flour
  5. Place the eggs onto the sausages and wrap the around each egg smoothly.
  6. Dip each sausage into breadcrumbs and roll it so that breadcrumbs coated evenly onto the sausages.
  7. Heat the oil in a deep heavy bottomed pan for frying
  8. Add the scotch egg into the oil and deep fry it until it turns golden brown evenly on all sides.
  9. Cook it for 10 mins so that the sausages are completely cooked.
  10. Drain it and serve it warm with the sauce.

Banana-Stuffed French Toast Recipe

Ingredients

Bread-4 slices
Eggs-3
Ripe bananas-3( cut into rounds)
Milk-1/2 cup
Cinnamon-1 tsp
Brown Sugar-1 tsp
Butter


Preparation method

  1. Melt butter in a heavy bottomed skillet over medium heat.
  2. Once butter is melted add the brown sugar and pinch of cinnamon.
  3. Stir with a wooden spoon until the sugar melts into the butter and becomes a sauce.
  4. Add bananas and toss together. Let cook until the bananas are soft and incorporated into the sauce.
  5. Remove to a bowl and let cool completely.
  6. Butter one side of each slice of bread. On the other side, top with banana mixture.
  7. Add the final piece of sandwich bread.
  8. Repeat process in assembling the other sandwich.
  9. Heat butter in a pan and cook sandwiches over medium heat.
  10. Flip and cook until golden brown.
  11. Serve it hot immediately.

Ensaladilla Rusa — Spanish Potato Salad

Ensaladilla Rusa- spanish potato salad,but it is said that the origin is from Russia.But Spanish have made their own version with boiled potatoes, mayonnaise and garnish it with fresh vegetables.its perfect salad for any seasons.


Ingredients:

Potatoes -2
Carrots -1/4 cup
Frozen peas -1/4 cup
Red Pepper -1
Boiled eggs-3
Mayonnaise-2 Cups
Pepper & Salt to taste


Preparation method

  1. Boil the potatoes in a salted water.Cool it, peel the skin and mash it and set aside.
  2. Add boiled carrots, peas,fresh peppers to the mash and mix it.
  3. Add the boiled egg whites,mayonnaise and mix it gently.
  4. Add the seasoning and grate the egg yolk evenly on the top of the salad, and garnish it with red peppers and chery tomato.
  5. Place the salad in refrigerator to chill and serve it .

Roasted Shrimp with Garlic

Roasted Shrimp
This is a simple recipe roasted shrimp with garlic. Perfect to serve over rice or pasta. It also makes a great appetizer.Easy to prepare and very delicious.


Ingredients:

Shrimp-250 gms
Garlic-3
Chilli flakes-1/2 tsp
Salt and Pepper to taste
Olive oil


Preparation method

  1. Heat oil in a pan , add the minced garlic and saute it
  2. Add the shrimp, chilli flakes, salt and pepper.
  3. Mix it well, so that the seasoning coated evenly on the shrimp.
  4. Roast it until it turns golden brown and soft for few mins.
  5. Serve it hot with salads

Sausage and Mash

Ingredients

Sausages-4
Potatoes-250gms
Cream/Milk-1 Cup
Butter-30gms
Onions-2
Chicken stock-1 cup
Sugar-1/2 tsp
Balsamic Vinegar-2 tbsp
Corn flour-2tbsp
Salt and Pepper to taste


Preparation method

  1. Boil the potatoes with salt, and keep it aside.
  2. Melt butter in a saucepan,add mashed potatoes and add milk.
  3. Whip it gently , add salt and pepper and mix it well.
  4. Melt the oil and butter in a large saucepan over a gentle heat. Add the onion and cover with a lid. Cook slowly for approx 10 mins or until the onions are soft and translucent.
  5. Add the sugar and balsamic vinegar to the onions and stir well. Cover with the lid and continue to cook for a further 5 minutes.
  6. Add the stock and boil gently uncovered for 5 minutes.
  7. Prepare the flour mixture by adding a tsp of water and pour the flour mixture back into the onion gravy, and boil until the gravy is slightly thickened.
  8. Heat oil in a pan, place the sausages and fry them until it turns to golden brown on all sides.
  9. Place the sausages and mash  on the plate and pour the hot onion gravy over the mash and sausages.
  10. Serve it immediately.

Orange chicken drumsticks

Ingredients

Chicken drumsticks -5

Orange juice – 5 TSP

Paprika-1 tsp

Crushed pepper-1/2 tsp

Ginger Garlic paste-1 tsp

Salt to taste

Butter-200 grams

Fresh Coriander – 1/3 bunches


Preparation method:

  1. Take a bowl, add butter, paprika, pepper, ginger garlic paste, salt and Orange juice. Mix it well.
  2. Add the drumsticks and mix it well, so that the mixture coated evenly.
  3. Marinate the chicken for 3 hrs in a fridge.
  4. Preheat oven to 200ºC
  5. Cut the potatoes into cubes, and toss it in the orange mixture.
  6. Arrange the drumsticks, potatoes in a baking tray and place it in the oven
  7. After 10 min take it out and flip the pieces and place it.
  8. Grill it for another 15 mins.
  9. Garnish it with fresh coriander leaves and serve it hot.

French Toast

Ingredients

Bread-4 slices
Eggs-3
Milk-1/2 cup
Cinnamon-1 pinch
Butter


Preparation method

  1. Whisk the eggs together with the milk and cinnamon.
  2. Dip one slice of bread into the egg mixture.
  3. Heat butter in a pan and place the bread.
  4. Cook over medium heat until browned on either side.
  5. Remove from the pan and serve it hot.
